TOMMY LEE: New Album To Include Duet With BACKSTREET BOYS Singer?
September 29, 2004Former MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee is currently in the studio with producer Scott Humphrey (ROB ZOMBIE, POWERMAN 5000) recording tracks for his next release. Among the guest musicians tentatively scheduled to appear on the CD are former THE CULT touring bassist/current DOHENY/CAMP FREDDY guitarist Billy Morrison, ex-JANE'S ADDICTION bassist Chris Chaney and none other than BACKSTREET BOYS singer Nick Carter.
Commented Morrison in an online posting: "Today [Tuesday, Sept. 28] I am working with Tommy Lee on some tracks in Scott Humphrey's studio, The Chop Shop. I'm typing this from Scott's studio in the hills, listening to Chris Chaney's bass tracks being put together. It's a great song and I am flattered to have been asked to do the guitars on this. Tommy is a rock legend and it's very cool to be working with him. We started last night, and once all the guitars are done, Nick Carter (yes....THAT Nick Carter, from the BACKSTREET BOYS!!) will be doing the vocals with Tommy. Then this afternoon, the singer from SOMETHING CORPORATE, Andrew McMahon will be in to do another song with us. It looks like Tommy's next record will have a bunch of friends on it, and the tracks are sounding great."
